"Sip Sip Hooray" Birthday Printables!

3.15.2012

It's little Eva's 5th birthday today! We were up early, showered, dressed and ready to take tons of fun things to pre-school today. We are in charge of the treat so I made these cupcakes. No biggie, just a white cake mix topped with strawberry frosting.
I bought fresh strawberries last night and cleaned and cut them this morning. When cutting the stem off I cut into a deep V in the tops and then sliced each strawberry piece in half so it resembled a heart shape. Eva was SO excited when she saw them!

Note: Don't put the cut strawberries on until the last minute because they release water and that will make your frosting watery.

Next up were the class favors. I found a package of 8 silly straws at Wal*Mart for $1.99 and then came home and designed these tags that slip right on! Super cute and super-inexpensive! And what 5 year old doesn't love a silly straw?!
I thought I had better share a free printable with my wonderful readers! So here you go! I changed the tag so it doesn't say "Eva"...I mean, that may isolate some of you.

I pinned several Valentine ideas for my kids to choose from. My 9 year old boy chose this one. Thanks for posting it and providing a PDF for the tag! The straws at Walmart were only $1.49 for 8 when I found them. Score! I saw some at the Dollar Tree today in a package of 6 as well. They were not translucent, however, but still very usable. Thanks for the post.

I love the non food treat. Is there a way to change “MY” to a name like Emma? TIA
